A Steel company requiring an engineer to maintain and improve their machinery.
Working within the wider Engineering Management Team, you’ll be leading and managing projects as well as a team of Mechanical Technicians. Analysis, design and planning will be a part of the role but getting on the production floor and taking the lead is key.
- Plan, prioritise, schedule, and manage electrical activities, for example planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs
- Develop your team of Mechanical Technicians both technically and professionally
- Ensure that risk assessments, method statements and permits are created, implemented and being followed
- Estimate the cost, time, and resources required for repair and improvement projects
- Work directly with engineers in other disciplines and shift managers to ensure effective running of the process
The Person
You’re an experienced Mechanical Engineer, who is always looking to improve their knowledge. Over the years, you have developed practical expertise in Power Engineering and Process Control. This practical ability has been backed up by good academic knowledge.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineer desirable
- Experience of developing process safety
- Strong experience of Preventative Maintenance & Reliability Engineering processes
- Excellent knowledge of Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems
- Hands on engineer who will do what it takes to keep the plant running
- Experience of leading and developing successful teams
